You can now purchase an American made H3 in Europe! The vehicles for sale now will be left-sided drivers, but the ones built next year in S. Africa will be primarily right-sided drivers. Do you really think the H3 will go over in France? I’m just not so sure right now…

This is a little bizarre…But this guy made a life-size Hummer out of styrofoam. Not only that, but it’s on view at the San Francisco dump? They’ll also serve “hors d’oeuvres and wines from vineyards fertilized with compost made from food scraps we collect at SF restaurants and homes .” Is this for real???

Woman Sues Radio Station Over Hummer H2 Prank

When Shannon Castillo showed up to claim her brand new Hummer H2, she was a little bit surprised when the DJ of her favorite radio station rolled up and handed her a remote-controlled car. It was part of a week-long april fools joke, and Castillo caught herself at the butt end. No word on the litigation outcome…

Robotic Hummer Aces Test

The folks at Carnegie Mellon are competing once again in the Defense Department’s challenge to create an autonomous vehicle. Last year none of the competitors finished, including CMU’s Hummer H1 based vehicle. However, the team was off to a promising start this year setting both speed and distance records, traveling over 200 miles in 7 hours!

UPDATE: Avis adds DIRECTV and DVD in Hummer H3 Rentals

H3 SmallOn top of adding one of the hottest new SUVs on the road to it’s rental lineup, Avis now announced that it will add DIRECTV and DVD systems to Hummer H3 models. Right now they are only available in the Pheonix location, but if its popular there, it’s sure to spread quickly. Avis already has about 5000 DVD equiped vehicles in their fleet, but the Hummer H3’s will be the first with DIRECTV.

A new survey from J.D. Power and Associates ranks Hummer among the most useful automotive websites. Competitors were ranked on terms of speed, navigation, appearance and content. Hummer came up second overall. See the complete story here

Sewell Hummer in Dallas was the leader in sales for the month of June, with an outstanding 110 trucks sold. Sewell beat out 24 other competitors in the South-Central region to take the number one spot, and also exceeded their monthly goal by 46%!
