Since its release in mid-2002, the Hummer H2 has been turning heads and turning up mud. Now, over 100 thousand people have chosen the larger-than-life SUV to be part of their lives. “The sale of the 100,000 th H2 is symbolic of its success in the marketplace,” said Susan Docherty, HUMMER general manager. “This milestone represents the H2’s ability to attract new customers to the brand by showcasing its unique combination of off-road capability and refined styling.”

Hummer Releases Limited Edition H2
As part of its ongoing mission to release new and different options to SUV fans, Hummer has begun to ship the Limited Edition Pacific Blue to dealers nationwide. The unique vehicle includes custom side-steps, chrome grill guard, and also has a rear DVD entertainment system with wireless headphones. These will soon be as hard to find as the 2005 Limited Edition Red trucks, as the Mishawaka plant is only making 875 total SUVs and SUTs.

Robotic Hummer H1 Flips During Practice Run
Carnegie Mellon’s “Red Team” ran into some all too familiar problems during a recent test run. The heavily modified Hummer H1 turned over, shattering the fiberglass dome that houses its main navigation sensors. All this only one week away from qualifying rounds, but the team says they will be ready to run. Last year they ran into a similar problem, when the former military Humvee made a steering error in an S-curve and rolled over, wiping out its roof-mounted sensors.
Waiting List Grows for Hummer H3 in South Africa
In anticipation for the newly-released Hummer H3 in South Africa, interested buyers have placed their name on a lengthy waiting list. To satisfy all of the orders on the list, it will take the factory nearly two months. Production starts on the vehicles in the middle of 2006. Trucks built in South Africa will not only be sold locally, but also be imported to other countries. Right now, it is against GM Policy for dealers to export, or even sell to known Hummer exporters.
Marines Unveil High-Tech Humvee
The Marine Corps now has a way to communicate quickly and effectivly on the battlefield. The new satelite system helps Marines “establish communication on the move quickly, instead of taking three hours to set up a tent, and at least four hours to set up radios and antennas.” -Cpl. Greg Pittman
Hummer H3 to Lead GM Turnaround
Car enthusiast and writer Jordan T. Marmara has picked 10 vehicles to lead GM’s turnaround, and the Hummer H3 leads the pack. In a guest editorial at Mervs GM Autoblog, Marmara praises the H3’s neat proportions, excellent driving dynamics and relative fuel efficiency, noting that, “This is the vehicle HUMMER desperately needed to break out of its ‘Fuel-Hog’ image.”
