March is American Red Cross Month, and Hummer is donating 10 more trucks, as part of the 72 they’ve already committed to donating. This comes along with $100,000 every year for the next six years.

2006 Hummer H1 Alpha and H2 Round out Edmunds top 3 Off-Road Picks
Edmunds recently ranked the top 10 ‘off-highway’ vehicles, and not suprisingly, Hummer made the list. The only truck to beat out the H1 and H2 was the Dodge Ram Power Wagon. Its equiped with front and rear differential locks, an electronically disconnecting front stabilizer bar, 33-inch off-road tires, Bilstein shocks and a 12,000-pound winch. I’d still bet on the H1 Alpha in an off-road competition…
International Wins Army Vehicle Bid
The Army’s Tank-automotive and Armanents Command (TACOM) recently awarded International $12.25 million to build a demonstrator vehicle over the next 18 months. Even though the article may suggest it, I don’t think AM General has much to worry about in the near future. However, they should increase the ammount of research and technology put into the Humvee, or they will certainly be phased out. International’s truck will be equiped with some cool gear, including geofencing, which restricts the movement of a vehicle within a specified area.

H3 Joins Colorado Police Fleet
“The main three reasons we got them is because of visibility, versatility and price,” said Cmdr. Dave Brown of the Lone Tree, CO police department. The city of Lone Tree recently bought two Hummer H3s to add to its small but growing police fleet. Police and city officials say the Hummers will allow for emergency response in just about any terrain or weather. You can check out the complete story from the Denver Post Here.
