India is the latest country to be added as a country to recieve shipments of the South Africa produced Hummer H3. As with other countries, they should be hitting the streets in 2007. The New Delhi media said, “The vehicle is fun to drive, though its bulk takes some getting used to, especially while reversing. In India, it will be a nightmare to park in cities like Delhi, but might be a great out-of-town trip vehicle.”

2007 Victory Red Hummer H2 SUV
Remember Hummer’s first limited edition attempt with a victory red color in 2004 (2005 model)? Well, it’s coming back - the color anyway. Hummer has decided the next limited edition to be produced in the Mishawaka, IN plant will be victory red. The 2007 model will have lots of upgrades the original did not have. A carbon fiber dash kit, rear entertainment DVD system, special chrome wheels, and back-up camera will all come standard in the new package. It will most likely be another 3 month production run, so only about 695 victory red Hummer H2s will be produced - that’s SUTs and SUVs combined. It’s a great looking color for that vehicle - and I’m sure they’ll sell quickly, just as they did in 2004.

E85 Flex Fuel Hummer H3
During the announcement yesterday about the release of a “new Hummer truck” coming from GM, Hummer’s Cheif Martin Walsh also talked about the future of a Hybrid Hummer: “We don’t really see hybrid technology as an ideal platform for Hummer because it does not allow the vehicle to demonstrate true off-road capabilities.” He went on to say that a Flex Fuel Hummer would be much more likely. GM already made that clear as a possibilty when they had the Flex Fuel H3 displayed at their booth at the SEMA show .

Walsh said, “The new product will have unparalleled off-road capabilities,” and “Like our current Hummers it would be recognizable from a distance.”

US Flag Hummer H2
When Stefan Dragitsch came to the United States in the mid-1980s, he only had “2 suitcases, $1,000 and a ton of hope.” His hope was to live the American dream. His success in the Miami real-estate business proved that the American dream is still alive, and in order to celebrate his success, he chose to purchase a Hummer H2. But not just any H2 – Dragitsch had the entire vehicle hand-painted to depict an American flag. Ironically, the work was done in Canada. The painter, Toronto-based Jason Gateman, specializes in motor vehicle murals and recently won an award in a motorcycle design competition sponsored by the Discovery channel.

Extreme “Green” Hummer: The Hummer O2

Filed under: Hummer News — Brian @ 11:08 am

Hummer O2 Green Concept
Later this month at the L.A. Auto Show nine California-based car design teams will showcase their ideas for earth-friendly cars of the future. The contest required auto-designers to submit designs and sketches of vehicles that would be fully recyclable after 5 years and have as little impact on the environment as possible. The Hummer O2 concept has algae-filled panels that make up the sides of the vehicle. The cells would turn C02 into Oxygen, just like a plant does, to power the car. When the car is parked the side panels spread out to maximize this effect. I wonder how it does off-road?
