It’s rare to have freezing temperatures in Dallas, and it’s even more unlikely to have both freezing temperatures mixed with rain. The recent ice-storm hit some areas in Texas harder than others, but the DFW area got its fair share of poor conditions. However, you won’t find many Dallas Hummer owners hunkering down in their houses. The Hummer has advanced traction control system that reduces the risk of losing control. Some Dallas Hummer owners have even been seen helping other stranded motorists pull their vehicles out of ditches. If you have any good ice/snow/Hummer pictures – submit them and we’ll put them up on the site!

Autoweek Reviews Hummer H3 Driving Academy
If you’re interested in finding out exactly what your Hummer H3 is capable of – the Hummer Driving Academy may be for you. It’s located minutes from the Hummer H2 and Humvee factories, and is operated by AM General. They originally built the facility for Humvee off-roading and military training (which it is still used for). The land was also at one point the proving grounds for South Bend based Studebaker. AMG first opened it up to owners of H1s, then H2s, and now H3s. The training ranges from 2 days to 5 days depending on which course you select – and recently some lucky reporters from Autoweek published an article about their experience. Be sure to check out the Hummer H3 photo gallery attached to the story!

Say Goodbye to the Yellow Hummer H3

Word is spreading about the fate of the Yellow Hummer H3 — is it true? It looks like it. The last round of orders is being put in for Yellow Hummer H3s, after the factory announced it would not be producing them much longer. No word on whether or not the H2 will discontinue the color as well. Personally, I think they should keep the color on the H2, since there are a handful of folks who really like to stand out, and the Yellow color is almost a Hummer staple. If you ever thought of buying a new Yellow Hummer H3 – it looks like they’re about to become extinct!
Production Starts on 2007 Victory Red Limited Edition Hummer H2
The Mishawaka, IN plant that produces the Hummer H2 is gearing up for the next Limited Edition to be released. The start of production on the 2007 Victory Red H2 marks the second time Hummer has used the color since their very first limited edition in 2004 (MY2005) – this time with a few improvements. Thanks to JAYB1RD over at the Elcova Hummer Discussion Forums for snapping these pics off the production line! The Victory Red Hummers should be hitting dealers in February – and if you want one, you’ll probably have to get in line. Some dealers already have deposits on their first four or five units, and considering only 695 will be made total — that may be all the dealer gets!
Hummer Claims First Dakar Victory

With Robby Gordon behind the wheel, Hummer has won their first Dakar race. The sixth stage is the longest in the event, taking Gordon almost 3 hours to complete. The win isn’t Gordon’s first, who raced for Volkswagen in 2005. Unfortunately, the win only brings Gordon and Hummer to 18th place in the overall standings — and I think it’s fair to say this is not a stock vehicle race like Gordon’s other recent appearances, given the pictures of the ‘H3′…

GM to Donate Child-Size Hummers to Hospitals Nationwide
It started off as an idea from a Shreveport General Motors employee. Now, its turned into a nationwide program. Mini-Hummers were first given to the Christus Schumpert Sutton Children’s Medical Center in Shreveport, the home of the Hummer H3. “We plan to expand this program, in order to provide children’s hospitals around the country with ride-on Hummers to help put smiles on the faces of their young patients,” said Martin Walsh, Hummer general manager — “We believe this mode of transportation beats a gurney ride and can help take young patients’ minds off their fears.” And Walsh is right – according to doctors the children have been quite receptive! Cheers to Hummer for their commitment!
