I was able to get a glimpse and test drive the newest 2007 Hummer H3 this afternoon — and it happened to be the newest color in Hummer’s lineup: Imperial Blue. The new color is very dark and almost looks black in some light conditions. It has quite a bit of metallic flake in the paint, similar to the superior blue color that it replaced. My guess is that Hummer will sell about as many of this color as they did the superior blue color (not many). As many of you probably know the H3 underwent an engine upgrade for 2007 to a 3.7 liter in-line 5 from the 3.5 liter in 2006. The 22 horsepower difference is relatively minimal, but will hopefully keep the reviewers off the ‘underpowered’ bandwagon. You can notice a little bit more punch in the 2000 RPM range and a little when passing vehicles around 45mph. Other than the new color and engine upgrade, very little has changed to the 2007 Hummer H3. Would the 2007 upgrades be enough for me to turn down the offers on the current 2006 models with more incentives (Like 0% Financing)? Doubtful.
