About 30 percent of HUMMER sales occur outside of the United States, with GM’s South Africa plant building the overseas right-hand drive H3. According to PickupTrucks.com, the new HUMMER owner is expected to move world-wide H3 production to the U.S. plant in Shreveport, LA.
A HUMMER spokesperson said that under new ownership, the 30 percent of sales that occur outside of North America are expected to grow.
This move would help ease the fears of workers at Shreveport’s H3 and H3T plant, a group that has had an uncertain future since the beginning of HUMMER’s strategic review.
