Just two days before an expected announcement about the HUMMER brand, and one day before Obama unveils his plan for the automakers, General Motor’s Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner is stepping down, reportedly at the request of the White House.
It is unclear who will take his position, though some are saying current GM president Fritz Henderson would be the most likely choice. It is unlikely that Wagoner’s stepping down will have an effect on the HUMMER brand, though it could delay the current review process.
