Another option is starting your own group based on the program – this is normally much easier to integrate from the ground up, and what many local clubs have done. (such as the Illiana HUMMER Club’s “HERT” program).

We do not have a local HOPE group. I am the EMA Director and would love to start a local HOPE group as part of our Emergency Management Office. Who might I get HOPE information for training and organizing the group? I would love to incorporate HOPE into our volunteer programs. Thank You!

The site should just be down temporarily, there are many active members serving. I would call your local red cross and see if you’re the first to inquire about it in your area, they may already have a program set up. Good luck!
