Hummer News

CheryLogo Sichuan Tengzhong, the company with a tentative agreement to purchase HUMMER from GM, has reportedly nabbed a top executive from Chery Auto to direct the proposed Shanghai division of HUMMER according to reports out of China.

The details of brand purchase are still being worked out, but it looks like Tengzhong is interested in establishing a Shanghai hub to market and sell imported HUMMER vehicles. Their choice to head up that division is Huang Zhiqiang, who was vice president of Chery Auto’s international business department.

Chery was China’s first automaker to export its products, and as of 2009 remains the country’s top auto exporter.
