With General Motors’ deadline to submit their viability plan to Congress just days away, we were wondering how long it would take for details of that plan (HUMMER’s fate in particular) to leak out. It appears that time is now, as Bloomberg reported Wednesday that both a Chinese company (Changfeng? Well, maybe not) and a private-equity firm (presumably located in Russia, India, or the Middle East) are interested in purchasing the brand.
Specifics on the two suitors (i.e. WHO they are!) are being kept private, and a HUMMER spokesperson could not divulge that info. According to Bloomberg’s report, talks have intensified in the last week and more talks will take place this week.
More info as it becomes available.
