GM has introduced a cool new toy which may be coming to Hummers in model year 2008. Coming in April of this year, it’s a newly designed key fob that lets you do a multitude of tasks while away from your vehicle. The fob will allow owners to check tire pressure in each tire, the odometer reading, and the amount of gas left in the tank. Some will even be able to roll down electric windows, change radio station settings, and let you know if you locked your doors. GM says it will operate at 4 – 6 times the range of competitors, and will also set comfort settings like mirrors and seat positions before entry. No official word from GM if it will be available on Hummers, but they did say “The device will be a $150 option on Cadillac Escalade luxury SUVs and other full-size GM SUVs, pickups and crossover-utility vehicles.” One can only expect that with the new interior enhancements in the 2008 Model Hummer H2, the new key fob design will be compatible.

The first few have just become available for the 2008 H2s - dealers should have them in a few weeks.
