Saudi Auto Chooses HUMMER H3 over Toyota FJ Cruiser

Hummer H3 Bahrain Off Road

In a recent head-to-head test by Saudi Auto, one of the premier automotive magazines in the Middle East, the HUMMER H3 triumphed over the Toyota FJ Cruiser. The vehicles were taken to a test track that was specifically designed for testing four wheel drive vehicles at the Bahrain International Circuit in order to keep the obstacles fair.

The editors at Saudi Auto chose the HUMMER H3 over the Toyota FJ because of its increased off-road ability and interior refinement.

“We felt that the HUMMER H3 was particularly deserving of the Saudi Auto Editor’s Choice award for a number of reasons. It possesses a greater ability to cross rough terrain than its competitor, helped by its higher ground clearance and better approach and departure angles; it looks great, inside and outside; and it offers much equipment that is not available in its competitor,” said Bakur Azher, Publisher and Editor in Chief, Saudi Auto.

HUMMER H3 Bags Saudi Auto’s Editor’s Choice Award

Dubai, United Arab Emirates The HUMMER H3 has been given the prestigious Saudi Auto Editor’s Choice Award after a head-to-head comparison with the Toyota FJ Cruiser at the Bahrain International Circuit.

The H3’s iconic HUMMER style and unparalleled off-road capability have earned it a prominent position in the growing HUMMER legacy. The experts at Saudi Auto, one of the premier automotive magazines in the region, acknowledged this fact and praised the HUMMER H3 for its superior attributes and qualities.

The HUMMER H3 triumphed over the Toyota FJ Cruiser for a number of reasons. It can cross more rugged areas than its competitor thanks to its higher ground clearance, which allows it to cross larger obstacles without the underbody touching the ground, and its superior approach and departure angles.

The H3 also offers numerous features that can not be found in its competitor, such as an easy-to-use electronic permanent four-wheel drive system, automatically adjusted front seats and a navigation system. In addition, Saudi Auto also commended the elegant, modern design of the H3’s cabin, its more powerful and fuel efficient engine, high levels of safety and the easy access to the rear seats.

Both vehicles were test driven on a track specially designed for four wheel drive vehicles at the Bahrain International Circuit, in order to subject them to same tests and evaluate the capabilities of each vehicle.

“HUMMER is truly honoured to receive this coveted award from one of the region’s leading automotive authorities,” said Ahmed Soudodi, HUMMER Marketing Manager in the Middle East. “The H3 being named Editor’s Choice by Saudi Auto is a very powerful statement to consumers everywhere about HUMMER’s product capability.”

2008 HUMMER H3
The HUMMER H3 packs uncompromising HUMMER style and capability into its midsize dimensions. Compared to the H2, the H3 is 429mm shorter in length, 152mm shorter in height and 165mm narrower. Roughly the same length as a midsize family sedan, H3 comfortably navigates city traffic and delivers HUMMER’s trademark crawling and climbing capability.

The HUMMER H3 carries over the Vortec 3.7-litre powerplant. This 3.7-litre inline five-cylinder unit offers an excellent combination of power and efficiency, delivering 255 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 367 Nm of torque at 4800 rpm.
