Strike may slow HUMMER H2 production

Production of HUMMER H2s may come to a halt if Detroit-based American Axle doesn’t settle its strike with the UAW. AM General, the company that manufacturers the H2 for General Motors, told the South Bend Tribune that a shutdown is likely next week if the strike continues.

AM General and General Motors are “interested spectators” in the whole ordeal, since the strike is between the UAW and American Axle. A shutdown would put 400 workers at the AM General production facility in Mishawaka, IN out of work.

The strike isn’t only affecting the HUMMER brand, plants where other GM vehicles like the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will also be affected if an agreement isn’t reached soon.
