Team HUMMER: Dakar Stage Three Update

Robby Gordon and Team HUMMER had expected stage three would suit the 2wd vehicles well, but due to a new restrictor that limits horsepower, Robby says he can’t reach the speed he needs to shine in the dunes like he usually does.

“I feel we are at a major disadvantage when it comes to restrictors,” says Robby. “My top speed is about 165mph and the Volkswagens’ are going 190mph…The sand dunes in this stage needed the car to have forward momentum to get through them. I would run up and try to come down and get stuck. For tomorrow we’ll move on and drive again.”

Robby would end up 12th for the stage, and 9th overall – one hour and four minutes behind the leader.
