HUMMER is King on Russia’s Dangerous, Rough Roads

As car sales in Russia plummet 50%, the HUMMER brand is doing something remarkable: Doubling their sales numbers when every other automaker is down double digits. NPR had a story this morning about the trend and what may be behind it. They interviewed one of the founders of the Russian HUMMER Club, and he said […]

FBI Joins Portland HUMMER Vandal Investigation

The FBI has joined the investigation to find those responsible for vandalizing 15 HUMMERs over the weekend at a Portland, Oregon dealership. Given the circumstances , it is expected that this was done by an eco-terrorist, who thinks dispersing powerful acid in public areas isn’t nearly as offensive as driving a HUMMER. Smart, eh? The […]

Portland Police Search for HUMMER Vandal

We don’t enjoy these sorts of stories, but if spreading the word can help put the vandals behind bars (or at least on probation), we’re all for it. Vandals in Portland, Oregon targeted a HUMMER dealership this last weekend with what appears to be harsh chemicals. As the pictures portray, the chemicals wreaked havoc on […]

Obama’s Angering of Chinese Could Delay HUMMER Deal

If there’s one group that HUMMER could use on its side right now is the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MoC) – the regulatory committee that deals with all inter-state trade issues, including the approval process for China’s Tengzhong to purchase HUMMER from GM. Last week, President Obama imposed new tariffs on Chinese-made tires, angering the […]

HUMMER H3T Crosses Deep Water

When we were in South Bend, Indiana for The HUMMER Club’s event at AM General’s off-road driving academy, it had been raining for several days. That rain made the trails difficult and raised water levels in the area. You’ve seen the pictures, and now you can see video of that same crossing. Enjoy! P.S. At […]

The Chinese regulator that economists and business experts expected to put the brakes on Tengzhong’s bid to buy HUMMER have essentially bowed out of the debate Thursday. The Chinese National Development and Reform Commission sent Tengzhong’s application back earlier this week for more details, a move which many in the media believed to be a […]

National HUMMER Club Journeys to South Bend

We thought The HUMMER Club’s trip to Drummond Island in July was a wet, muddy adventure, but it wasn’t nearly as wet and muddy as the event held at HUMMER’s official off-road driving academy in South Bend, Indiana in August. Turnout was strong, with HUMMER H1s being the most common vehicles to attend. While this […]

The details are sketchy at best, but we’re trying to keep you as up to date as possible. HUMMER CEO Responds to Enthusiast Questions

We had a terrific response to our first “Ask Jim” segment, in which readers got to submit their questions to HUMMER’s CEO Jim Taylor. Jim was a little tied up with negotiations last week, but was able to respond to the queries this week. He addressed concerns about diesel models in the U.S., International sales, […]
