The Army’s Tank-automotive and Armanents Command (TACOM) recently awarded International $12.25 million to build a demonstrator vehicle over the next 18 months. Even though the article may suggest it, I don’t think AM General has much to worry about in the near future. However, they should increase the ammount of research and technology put into the Humvee, or they will certainly be phased out. International’s truck will be equiped with some cool gear, including geofencing, which restricts the movement of a vehicle within a specified area.
