Top GM Exec: No Progress on HUMMER Deal

GM is not currently in active talks with any buyers for the HUMMER brand according to Tim Lee, GM’s president of international operations said Thursday in Shanghai.

“If we have something to be talking about positively with Hummer, believe me we’d be talking about it,” said Lee.

Lee indicated that after the deal to sell HUMMER to Chinese company Tengzhong that numerous offers came in for the brand, but after doing due diligence, there hasn’t been any progress.

Since he’s based in Shanghai, it’s possible that Lee isn’t as familiar with the discussions as those based in Detroit –but more likely, he does know what’s going on and didn’t think that comments made in Shanghai would make their way back to the U.S. – stupidity among the top brass at GM isn’t new.

  1. shit!

We buy the Hummer brand!….Hummer has yet to live

  2. Where is Richard to buy the brand and offer in his wily insight??? Come on Richard!!!!!

  3. The reason why Tim Lee said they are not in active talks with anybody is an old marketing strategy, see they are letting HUMMER brand buyers know they are still open to “higher” offers.

The reason why Tim Lee said there is nothing positive to talk about in regards to the HUMMER brand is because GM is holding out for some serious cash. It’s marketing lingo for we want more money.

The “numerous” offers GM received for the HUMMER brand is also part of basic marketing, GM is looking to start a bidding war between the many HUMMER brand buyers that are now all trying to buy the HUMMER brand.

This is classical marketing 101 if I do say so myself.

Just imagine all the countries at the Olympic games running on a track, only one person can get to the finish line first, in the case regarding the HUMMER brand, only one buyer will offer enough money to own the legendary HUMMER brand, thus it’s going to be a gritty race to the finish line for all the many HUMMER buyers now battling it out to the end.

I’m positive GM had Tim Lee make these comments intentional knowing full well they would make their rounds throughout the world to all the many HUMMER brand buyers. Thus ensuring the many HUMMER brand buyers will now start making some big cash offers for the HUMMER brand starting immediately!!!

One thing we do know for sure is, the HUMMER brand has “NUMEROUS” people trying to buy it. Hell in all honesty, whoever buys the HUMMER brand will own the heart of America, thus I can see why GM is trying to get every last penny they can out of the HUMMER brand, good for them.

Now let’s keep posts here positive and respectful, we want the sale of the HUMMER brand to go through smoothly and our comments will play a pivotal role in this sale. Thus keep your posts here very optimistic and full of cheer for what the future holds because I know it can only mean bigger HUMMERs with more power and ground clearance than ever before if we do our part by helping this sale through that is by being courteous and helpful right through to the finish line. Then we will get our 2011 HUMMERs this fall for sure, so please keep thinking 2011 HUMMERs and we will get them for sure!!! 💡

  4. Between Richard and GM, this whole thing is just laughable now. Maybe if GM catered more to the offroad crowd an less to bling Hummer would still be around.

  5. I LOVE my Hummer! It is the best thing I have ever driven and owned! I hope they can work out a deal and keep them coming! I would like my next to be another new Hummer!

  6. @Hellbound 😈

I do not see why or how anything could possibly be laughable at this juncture. The deal with Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co only fell through two or three weeks ago. For most companies it takes several weeks just to sort out their paperwork and refocus again. The executive team needs time to refocus their frame of mind as well. This doesn’t just happen on a whim. Your mind has to be sharp to do this kind of high stress business so you better stop riding the backsides of the executive HUMMER team so they can work in peace starting now or else we are going to stop reading your posts entirely because we are sick and tired of your bad attitude based upon unfounded evidence.

Remember HUMMER CEO Jim Taylor told us in his own words it’s going to be till May or June till everything is back in order again with this sale, and if GM is like most companies I work with, you can double that till about August or September as folks will be going on holidays soon for summer with their families for a much needed rest after a long and stressful previous last year and yet another busy year in front of us all over again to deal with which will certainly require much rest and preparation time for all of the executives to get back in to the swing of things so we can properly see this sale through so that all parties involved come out winners.

As far as GM catering to the off road, how many people buy the HUMMER winch from GM? I only seen one I think in eight years. How many people buy the 20 inch wheels from GM, almost everybody did in 2009.

GM is in business to make money, and that is what they are going to do. They can’t force people to buy a winch if they want 20 inch wheels now can they?

If I was a dealer like Lynch HUMMER is, I would throw in a FREE winch instead of a FREE shotgun just for the hell of it so that all of the HUMMERs going off of my lot at least looked like real off road machines, but unfortunately I don’t operate the HUMMER dealerships, if I did you’d see me doing promos like that all the time for sure!!! I do understand Lynch HUMMER has ample shotguns however and few to no winches, so in this case the promo makes sense, but not to say a FREE winch wouldn’t make a good future promo indeed!!!

Another promo could be several hundred dollars off a Road Armor bumper or Nitto Mud Grappler tires or a FREE install with your purchase, etc. As you can see with a little commonsense there are lots of ways to help people make their HUMMERs look off road ready instead of blinging them all up in chrome.

I must give GM credit where credit is due with the 2009 Black Chrome Special Edition HUMMER H2 however, personally I felt it was very stylish, not too much bling, but very sophisticated. Not everybody wants a matt black look for their HUMMER. If they did GM might as well start painting the exteriors of HUMMERs with spray on bed liners instead of bothering with colors at all.

And last I heard HUMMER is still very much around, I already said no negative posts allowed here or anywhere for that matter. We have 849 new 2010 HUMMERs going in to production on April 12 which means HUMMER is far from gone by a long shot!!!

Now cheer up and get with it already. HUMMER brand buyers do not want to see your pessimistic posts and quite frankly neither do I because this has been going on long enough with you, not just today but in pervious threads too because I have been monitoring your posts for a very long while here. I suggest you change your tune starting now!!! Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Rest assured all will work out, sure there are some marketing games being played now to drum up more money, but as bystanders you don’t need to know anything about that because it does not concern you, all you need to know is the sale will be completed and when it is you’ll be getting 2011 HUMMERs. Now stop paying so much attention to the dramatics of this sale, and start thinking about your new 2011 HUMMER and what mods you are going to be making to it once you get it okay, have a lovely day.

P.S. To all the beautiful ladies reading my post here, I apologize I got a little angry in this post, however I’m very emotional about the HUMMER brand and when I read B.S. comments that insult the HUMMER brand and the hard working team that support it I end up getting really irate to no end and end up cracking open the preverbal can of whoop ass to set the record straight. Hopefully there will be no more bad posts here ever again because after all this is a website for “enthusiast” and that’s the bottom line because I said so!!!

  7. @Scott in Dallas

    I LOVE my HUMMER too!!!

My HUMMER is the best vehicle I have ever driven in my entire life and owned too and I have owned and driven Camaros, Trans Ams, Corvettes and 1500, 2500 and 3500 series trucks and know the HUMMER is by far and away the best, there is not even any comparison.

That’s because HUMMERs come with rock rails, skid plates, reinforced frames, and everything you need for off roading straight from the factory, any other truck needs heavy mods and even then they often break on the trail because other vehicles need a full body overhaul to be trail ready like how a HUMMER comes already straight from the showroom floor.

Scott, rest assured a deal will be worked out for sure just as sure as the sun is going to rise in the morning!!!

Thank you, we would very much love for you to own another new HUMMER indeed and will do whatever it takes to make it precisely so!!!

They have a saying in Texas called, “Texas born, Texas bred, when I die, I’ll be a Texan dead!”

When it comes to HUMMER, I say, “HUMMER owning, HUMMER riding, when I die, I’ll be HUMMER driving!!!”

Now give me a big oh HELL YEAH if you’re riding to Heaven in a HUMMER when you go because that’s what I’m arriving at the pearly gates in, a HUMMER!!!

Remember, there ain’t no grave that can hold any HUMMER down because HUMMERs are battle proven and built to fight right on the assembly line!!! And when Gabriel blows his trumpet, you can bet it’s the air horn of a HUMMER he’s blowing when the day comes for us to ride back up to Heaven!!! ➡

  8. Richard said:

“when Gabriel blows his trumpet, you can bet it’s the air horn of a HUMMER he’s blowing when the day comes for us to ride back up to Heaven!!!”

Everybody that believes this guy is real, post up.

  9. @ORH2

I’m not here to get in to a religious debate, if you’re an atheist fine. This is not a religious forum. However many brave men and women died defending our country in HUMVEEs thus I was paying homage where homage is due.

I also see you are using an alias to mask your identity however I looked you up and correct me if I’m wrong, am I responding to Dave Kupfer? If so I’ll give you a phone call right now if you have a beef with me and we’ll get it settled out, that’s for sure!!!

    How does that sound? 😐

  10. Great news guys, I called Dave at Outdoor Adventure USA. Dave seems like a nice man however he doubted I was sincere in my post about Gabriel. I told Dave I was sincere and asked him if he’s religious like me. Dave confirmed that he is however he didn’t really seem that interested in talking overly much to me. That’s unfortunate however I am who I am and there is nothing I can do to change that because that’s how the good Lord made me.

That’s my H2 in the picture next to my name and if Dave wants me to send him a video of me driving it fine. I can bring a horse to water but I can’t force a horse to drink if they don’t want to drink.

All and all, it was nice to talk to my first person in the HUMMER community today for the very first time ever, even if on less than stellar terms. But hopefully next time Dave and I talk it will be on a positive note indeed. Big thumbs up to Dave for his work he does at Outdoor Adventure USA, looks very first rate to me indeed.

Now where are all the lovely HUMMER owning ladies at, I wouldn’t mind talking to you guys now too, that’s for sure!!! Hit me up if you want to talk HUMMERs okay!!! 😎

  11. I wish I had Richards optimism, but i’m losing mine by the day.

  12. @hummeraddict

Like I said in my post above today in this thread, this sale could take months to complete with summer vacation fast approaching, and I don’t plan to spend every day for the next 6 months trying to cheer you guys up till the sale goes through because I have my own work to do too since I’m not getting paid to give you guys pep talks.

However rest assured a sale will go through, GM doesn’t have numerous offers for a sale for nothing you know, so enjoy your summer and before long the next new thread we see will be that of a sale for sure!!!

In the meantime, enjoy driving the HUMMERs we already own, it’s only going to get better from here when the new models come out.

    We will see things like:

    a) Stronger frames

    b) Bigger rock rails

    c) Higher tires

    d) Next generation rubber for tires

    e) Thicker skid plates

    f) Bigger gas engines and diesels

    g) More aggressive bumpers

    h) Sleeker styling

    i) Less plastic parts

    j) More ground clearance

    k) Heavy duty suspensions and shocks possibly by FOX

    l) More overall functionality

Yes, if the photos I seen of the new model H2s and H3s are correct, the new HUMMERs will look like a cocktail consisting of steroids and crystal meth. These new HUMMERs are going to tear through anything with ease more so than ever before while maintaining their upscale level of luxury for those with discerning tastes that appreciate arriving at the nearest trail in comfort and then off roading in comfort as well because nobody wants to be sitting in some old beater and have a seat spring pop up their ass, I’ll stick to my HUMMER any day of the week over that.

Get some much needed rest guys and take it easy, everything is completely under control and an intimate HUMMER brand sale will take place most definitely. 😉

  13. Thanks Richard! I hope you’re right!

  14. Richard, I always look forward to reading your post they always seem as if you are working on the inside of GM sales team…Kind of like a double agent.

I agree with you, I don’t want to see hummer go anywhere beside forward in research and development. I am one of those soldiers you speak of that have spent countless hours in military HMMWV’s. I love my truck and its capabilities. I think it’s a damn shame that GM had to consider selling the brand, i blame GM Marketing team. I also hate all the prius lovers that say, hummer owners don’t care about the environment and this global economic crisis. I hate that Hummers get labeled as Gas Guzzlers but if you look at the TWO best selling Trucks; Chevy Silverado with an fuel economy of 14 city/19 highway and the Ford F-150 8cyl, 5.4L,6 speed auto Tranny Fuel economy of 14/19. This isn’t far from our beloved Hummers. H3 Alpha has a 13/16 City/highway and the smaller 3.7L has 14/18, but yet we get labeled with the bad names. Even if you compare the 3.5L fuel economy to others the 14/18 isn’t far from 15/19 in the Jeep Rubicon and the Ford explorer 13/19. It’s the bad name that comes with owning a hummer that gets under my skin.

You say that you believe that Tim Lee said that they are not in active talks with anybody is a marketing scheme to get more money for the brand. Well I say its that same GREED of always wanting more that has America in the position it is in now.

~ It’s time for greatness — not for greed. It’s a time for idealism — not ideology. It is a time not just for compassionate words, but compassionate action. ~ Marian Wright Edelman

  15. @ShawnDondo

Thank you for the AWESOME post!!! That’s a big BOO YAA from me. At least that’s how I think you say it, in karate we say OUS which is Japanese for BOO YAA. As you know any kind of yelling gets the blood and adrenaline pumping and helps you perform better where physical strength is a must!!!

I’m glad you love my posts, being a double agent for General Motors sounds like a James Bond sort of deal to me. I like the sounds of that. I just hope it will land me some of them hot ladies like in the James Bond movies.

I also agree about further research and development, which is exactly what the HUMMER brand is going to get. Although much of it is already done, it’s more just tooling up and getting the new models out to dealers as fast as we can!!!

I like the military HUMVEEs too. However the city I live in is so tight I didn’t want to go bigger than the H2 as I can just get in to some tight spots downtown but any bigger I probably wouldn’t fit, so the H2 is just nice for me.

The capabilities are what sold me too. I like being able to drive just about anywhere. But don’t take me the wrong way. I want higher tires for the next gen HUMMER H2 for sure like at least 40 inch high tires!!!

GM was too slow to get the new H4 and H5 out, now they don’t have the balls to handle negative press so they feel the need to sell. If GM would grow a set they’d roll out the H4 and H5 for sure and say to hell with the bad press like how I run my businesses, but GM is too girly for that.

There is no global economic crisis, stupidest thing I ever heard in my whole life. It’s cold as hell up here in Canada, bring on the global warming and warm this ice hole up because I don’t need any more cold that’s for damn sure.

Most half tons don’t even get as good of fuel economy as me. I am easy on the gas when just relaxing and can go forever. Sometimes I’ll dust off somebody who gives me a dirty look like my HUMMER is slow, I have a Corsa exhaust so it really wakes people up when they think HUMMERs are slow, HUMMERs haul ass when you put your foot in them!!!

I don’t know what bad names you are talking about, in Canada HUMMERs don’t have bad names. Anybody who owns a HUMMER here is like a hero to be respected and admired by all. All the kids and ladies love my HUMMER. Most guys do too, although you do get a few jealous ones, but not that often.

I wouldn’t call HUMMER owners a bad anything, because you never know which HUMMER owner took advantage of the FREE shotgun giveaway at Lynch HUMMER, so I suggest people best watch their mouth before somebody with a shotgun goes postal, that’s all we need because HUMMER owners are human too and can only take so much abuse before we snap.

I can’t say it’s a bad thing to want more money. GM needs all the money they can get to pay off their bills. If not your taxes are going to go up more, so either way they need money and the more the better.

What I don’t like however is the fact Japan only allows 500 American car sales per year but we have oceans of their cars on our streets. I would kick foreign cars the heck out, then maybe we wouldn’t be using our tax money to bail out the domestics while Asia gets rich at our expense, that’s what I’d do.

Nice quote, however we have to work to make money, the question is, who we are working for. I believe we should be working for domestic interests, not for foreign interests.

Keep up the good work Shawn, you’re a real man for sure, not just a keyboard warrior, we need more men like you in the world that are less talk and more action, that’s for sure!!! ❗

  16. LOLz at this thread…

  17. Uuccchhhh, No Good.

    Hummer won}t make it !!!

    I saw some H2 price droped 30 %

Let{s see what will bw hummer}s future

Might be H4 will be on our dreams

  18. @H3TJ

Did you not read my posts above, I already said the HUMMER sale will be finalized however there will be delays due to summer vacation fast approaching which is commonsense in the business world to have delays for summer vacation as I’m sure you’re very much well aware by now alright.

Thus HUMMER will very much make it for sure!!!

Regarding your statement of the price of a HUMMER H2 dropping by 30% that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my entire life. All of the 2009 HUMMER H2s are holding at $70,000 in Canada unless it has 100,000 or more miles on it that is!!!

Do you even know how much 30% is? If you have 100 and subtract 30% you’re left with 70. Thus I can only imagine you’re not familiar with math in that regard.

HUMMER’s future will be the new re skinned H2 and H3 with many upgrades and the all new H4 and H5!!!

The new H4 is right around the corner, it’s already developed!!! All the H4 needs is just the green light to tool up and then we can start rolling them off the assembly line and then shipping them off to HUMMER dealerships near you!!!

Now no more misinformed posts and have an AWESOME weekend!!!

  19. Richard do you work for hummer?

  20. @Hellbound

Would have answered you sooner however I just got done rebuilding a water pump here in the house. I ended up having to drill out a bolt that was broken off in a hole so it took me awhile to do that but got it working and back up to 50 PSI now, everything is great and no leaks.

I do not work for HUMMER directly like a salesperson or the likes.

However rest assured I am working in many other ways to ensure HUMMER has a long and bright future, that’s for sure!!!

I hope you’re enjoying an ice cold alcoholic beverage and are having a great night!!! 😉

  21. Hummer is such a great brand and has an important market place. I can’t see the auto world without Hummer Rod hall

  22. Thank you for your feedback, Richard please just check the autotraeder out this week.

I love hummer capabilities and design but Hummer is getting deep in a big hole,

maybe it is not matter of math only bussines

  23. @h3TJ. I don’t know what you mean about HUMMERS on autotrader, but HUMMERS are still expensive. Even a 7 year old base H2 still sells for over $20k. I think Richard is right. The brand will live, its just getting damn irritating right now.

  24. @H3TJ

I don’t need to check Auto Trader because I can go to their website which I have already done before replying to your post earlier today.

What I discovered at autotrader.com is HUMMER prices have not moved an inch. If you see prices down on HUMMERs they must have very high miles and have sustained damage from excessive trail duty.

Other than that, don’t be looking for any deals because HUMMERs are hard to come by and very few people are willing to sell their HUMMERs. If you do get lucky and find a HUMMER for sale in your area and you or your friends are thinking of buying one, buy it quick since it may be several months before you’ll see many HUMMERs for sale again.

Of course once the 2011 HUMMERs arrive at dealership showrooms you’ll be able to buy some of the HUMMERS which were traded in towards 2011 HUMMERs, however don’t expect them to go very cheap either because the only HUMMER H2 I saw 30% off of new was a 2007 with over 100,000 miles on it, it was around $45,000 which was a great price for that HUMMER. Keep in mind it needed new tires and possibly its fluids changed, so don’t think you’re going to get any deals on HUMMERs.

If you want a deal, try buying a 1982 Chevy Tahoe, you might get a deal on that. Other than that nobody is giving away their HUMMERs. That’s for damn sure!!!

HUMMERs can drive up out of any hole out there, and will drive out of this hiccup in the road as well which is finalizing the HUMMER sale.

It’s not a matter of business at all, most HUMMERs are privately owned, nobody is going to sell you a HUMMER, there are only a handful of 2009 HUMMERs on autotrader.com and last I checked only a small handful on ebay.com.

So unless you’re ready to pony up some cash, the only deal you’ll be getting possibly if you’re very lucky that is, will be on a 2003 HUMMER H2 with excessive trail duty hours logged, then you might get it for about $30,000 assuming the owner would ever sell it to you, which is not that likely in all honesty.

Hope that helps you better understand the value of HUMMERs and how much you can expect to pay for a HUMMER.

Most people around here who can’t afford a HUMMER just buys an old GMC or Chevy to beat around in, there is always something for everybody, just keep watching autotrader.com and I’m sure something in your price range will turn up.

If you already own a HUMMER now, drive it like you stole it because everybody wants to get their hands on HUMMERs that is till the 2011s are out, then you’ll see less of a panic to buy a good used HUMMER once the new HUMMERs are on dealership floors.

Take it easy and sleep well. 😎

  25. I know for a fact the pickings are low for used Hummers in the NYC/Philly area. We have 4 dealers between NYC/Philly. The dealers I talk to can’t keep the H3’s on the lot when they get them. Average mileage H3 goes for between $16k – $25k.

  26. Lately I’ve been seeing 5-10 HUMMERs per day… Before the sale fell through you would be lucky to see 5-10 per week! So the people are definately keeping their HUMMERs here…

  27. There is an old saying navy pilots have which is CAVU. CAVU means “ceiling and visibility unlimited” and when I think of HUMMER I think of CAVU because the HUMMER brand has unlimited potential just like how you have unlimited potential too!!!

Just between us, I know the future is so bright for HUMMER I have to wear shades thanks to all the amazing technology coming in next gen HUMMERs!!! Needless to say foot traffic at HUMMER lots is going to be higher soon than it was even back in 2003!!! That’s for sure!!!

Richard Wishes You CAVU for All of Your Days Ahead 😎

  28. It is a joke that a GM executive would say this. There is no reason why GM should not sell this brand. No reason at all. The only reason would be that GM screwed up another possible sale. Why would GM sell it for any dollar amount? Oh that is right they owe the US goverment money.

  29. It would make sense to sell. Then again GM has not made much sense for long time.

  30. @Bobby Jones

Like I have already said above, Tim Lee implied there was no dice in regards to the sale of the HUMMER brand simply because GM needs more money in order for a sale to happen, I’m not sure how I can be anymore clear then this?

Again, I already said GM will sell the brand, if GM did not want more money for the HUMMER brand it would have been sold hundreds of times in the last two weeks alone.

GM did not screw up any sales for the HUMMER brand. Rather it is the buyers screwing up by not ponying up enough coin.

GM is a business, a business is designed to make money or you’re no longer a business anymore.

Yes, GM owes many millions of dollars and is working hard at becoming a profitable company someday like Toyota, minus the runaway cars that is.

With technology like electric cars and fuel cells now a top priority for GM, they are unable to get any money to continue the HUMMER brand mainly because the HUMMER brand is not a politically correct brand.

In a world where we need smaller and less of everything, the government does not want to support HUMMER sales to those who enjoy off roading and recreational activities. The closest thing we can get from the government is a 2011 GMC 3500 series and then put a lift kit on it, some tires, wheels, rock rails, winch, a tire gate and maybe custom bumpers to give it an off road look and feel.

However to keep the HUMMER brand alive they will need new ownership like how Land Rover, Jaguar, Saab, Volvo (pending) were all sold to go on to become profitable and highly successful brands under new ownership.

Hope that helps, have a wonderful week!!! 😎

  31. @hummeraddict

Right, GM has to sell the HUMMER brand. If GM was not owned by the government and they had some extra money it would make sense to keep the HUMMER brand. However now that GM is owned by the government and is completely broke and still not profitable yet, to keep a recreational brand is just not making sense to GM right now. The HUMMER brand needs to be owned by a profitable company, not by a broke company like GM.

GM makes perfect sense, the problem is their dealer network was too big to sustain due to companies like Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai and the likes stealing all of GMs sales. If other companies steal all of your sales, then going out of business is your only option. Thus I would not call GM a screw up at all. The screw ups are the people who bought foreign cars and the government for allowing people to buy foreign cars in the first place. If I was the president I would do the same as Japan and that is allow only 500 Asian car sales in America per year like how they only allow 500 American car sales in Asia per year.

So you buy a Toyota thinking you’ll save a grand or two in repair bills on your GM but you later end up paying countless thousands in taxes for GM anyways. It would have made more sense to support our domestics while we had the chance instead of now having to take the money out of our taxes. I hope everybody has learnt a lesson here, buy domestic and stop buying foreign or be prepared to pay huge taxes like 70% or even 80% of your income in taxes if you don’t stop buying from Asia!!!

    Thank you for understanding. 😉

  32. Richard you probably are right but GM’s track record on getting a sale done is pretty bad. Only SAAB and wtihout the Swedish Government pushing it, it would not have happened. The longer GM waits the more they are hurting the brand.

  33. @Bobby Jones

Actually GM thus far has been 100% successful at getting sales done. Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn are GM brands and it made sense for them to keep those brands and simply close them, the same way it would make sense to close GMC and Buick rather than sell those brands as well. This way GM would just have Chevy and Cadillac to deal with which is more than enough for now. Of course if the government would get rid of foreign cars GM could easily bring Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn back and make them profitable by kicking Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Kia and Hyundai out because it doesn’t make sense for Americans to giveaway billions of dollars to Asians while American companies go broke causing lost corporate taxes, lost jobs and poverty for American citizens while Asian lifestyles are on a steady rise and American lifestyles are on the low. I have no problem with Asians living it up however not at another county’s expense is what I am saying here.

SAAB and HUMMER were not originally GM brands, thus it makes sense to sell SAAB and HUMMER.

As you know SAAB has already been successfully sold, and HUMMER is just about to be sold any day now, thus all is well.

Regarding the Swedish government stepping up to buy SAAB, you must remember the SAAB brand cost many times more than the HUMMER brand, for the savvy investor the HUMMER brand is just a drop in the bucket to own at this point in time. However once the new models come out the HUMMER brand will be worth many billions as well.

I do not feel GM is hurting the brand because whenever a new product is launched, there will be massive interest, trust me. Example, the Camaro was on hiatus from 2002 till 2010 and it came back with record sales. When the re skinned H2 and H3 come out and the new H4 and H5 role out there will be record sales again making previous sales look like small potatoes.

Carolyn told me last night that an entire generation of HUMMER owners and fans love HUMMER and that with such a storied history over the past decade the HUMMER brand will now begin to grow exponentially as our wives and adult kids start to buy HUMMERs you will see the HUMMER brand 120 times larger than it is now by model year 2014 according to my calculations.

    Have a terrific day!!!

  34. If anything you gave me more confidence in teh sale happening. Thanks!

  35. Richard, you are entertaining to say the very least. Wrong, but entertaining!!!

  36. Well @Richard & all the other HUMMER lovers here… I just gotta say I truly hope that HUMMER lives forever. Even if there ain’t gonna be any new models coming up I hope the same models will continue its production for years to come.

Now I hadn’t been following the news about GM rollin’ up HUMMER, and imagine my shock when I read it in an article just moments ago. Further Googling gets me to this site. I ain’t got a HUMMER now but I gotta say it’s my dream car. It’s not easy at all to spot a HUMMER from where I am/come from but whenever I spot a HUMMER, I GAWK & DROOL at the sight of it.

It’ll take me yearsSSS before I’ll be able to afford a H3. Why? Cost it’s being sold for half a million here for a H3 and almost a mill (200k short) for H2. All thanks to the d**n import duties & taxes. Best thing is HUMMER was only officially sold here last Q4… SOOooo…. *IF* indeed HUMMER is going stop production…. *sob sob* there goes my dream car.

Managed to spot a white H3 near my place couple of nights ago… and… do I even have to state my reaction/feeling when I saw it? Guess you oughta know better how I was like. 😉 So yes… gimme a Ferrari, Porsche and HUMMER to choose from… call me nuts but I’d take HUMMER ANYTIME!!! =)

Have a nice day y’all! Cheers!

  37. @H3minusH2

Why should anybody here believe you or anything you have to say? Where do you live exactly? What are your contact details? Work history? And present employment status? Then we’ll talk.

Until I know more about you, to me you’re just some anonymous poster on the internet and frankly till I know your full and complete background I would not believe a single, solitary word you have to say.

I am not wrong about any of my posts here. I suggest you stop trolling these threads and come back once you get your facts straight!!!

HUMMER will be here forever!!! Bank on it because a sale will be finalized this year!!!

    Good day to you. 😐

  38. @GTBlackIce

Cool username, however Black Chrome would be more suiting than Black Ice wouldn’t you think because when I think of a GT, I think of a Grand Touring car, however when I think of Black Chrome I think of the 2009 HUMMER H2 Special Edition!!!

If you read anything posted here, you would know there are two new models coming, an H4 and an H5 not to mentioned re skinned H2s and H3s. I highly suggest you read back at least one year here in the threads to bring yourself up to date alright.

Some forums have “read the thread” icons, I’d say wordpress needs such an emoticon too because there are way too many people making posts without reading the threads on here. It makes me feel like kicking people right in the ass when they don’t read the threads.

Yes, GM did mention they are serious about getting the HUMMER brand sold, after the Chinese government screwed GM around for the better part of a year GM is now very serious about finalizing a sale for the HUMMER brand, that’s for damn sure.

The hummerguy.net website is very informative, best website I’ve found on the internet for HUMMER information and news, this is very true.

Ain’t got a HUMMER yet? Buy a 2003 HUMMER H2 if you’re on a budget, I’m sure there are at least a couple on ebay.com or autotrader.com if you look hard enough.

Yes, a HUMMER vehicle is very pleasing to the eyes. More pleasing still is hot, sultry ladies driving a HUMMER which truly makes for a titillating sight to behold. There are some real bombshells in my city driving HUMMERs, I’d stop and talk to them but they are always moving in the opposite direction as me, that’s why we need a HUMMER meet up group so I can finally get a hold of them women. Speaking of which, where are all of the HUMMER owning ladies at and why haven’t they joined in the conversations here yet? Come on ladies!!! Show yourselves, we know you’re there!!!

Oh, I see you do not live in the USA, well that can make it harder to get a HUMMER, this is true.

HUMMER will NEVER stop production, so save the dramatics. You will get your HUMMER indeed, thus no need to worry.

Yes, a HUMMER is the finest vehicle on the road, I also enjoy customizing HUMMERs too, but that is a story I’ll save for another day, however I was told I have one of the nicest customized H2s on the eastside of Canada.

Listen, it doesn’t matter if your car costs over a million dollars and if it is a Bugatti Veyron, you drive it face to face in to a HUMMER and the HUMMER wins every single time, thus the HUMMER is always the best vehicle, no questions asked!!!

Be sure to ramp up your business activities and I’m sure you’ll be driving a new 2011 HUMMER soon too because the best way to support the brand is by driving HUMMERs and getting yourself out there on the road so people know HUMMER owners are much more numerous than one may think, just that many of us have several cars and don’t always use our HUMMERs day to day however I drive mine as much as possible, that’s for sure!!!

Have a great day as well, thanks for the post!!! 😎

  39. the HUMMER brand in grave danger of being completely phased out unless an eleventh hour buyer can be found

  40. Yeah it obvious at this point they rejected all offers and don’t have a buyer. Its a dead brand.

  41. holy cow batman. 41 comments on one thread.

  42. @Hellbound13 and @H3TJ

Its not over yet. I think GM just wants more money. These companies are probably just trying to get it for pennies right now.

  43. @H3TJ

I see your username is linking back to gmhummer.com which is a third party website.

On further inspection I see the domain belongs to a M. Rigney working out of a PO Box, certainly not a good sign to be working out of a PO Box unless you’re some kind of a huckster!!!

I don’t know what kind of a game you’re trying to play here, however I see the Alexa Rank at gmhummer.com for the last three months is 948,063 whereas at hummerguy.net the Alexa Rank here for the last three months is 442,119 or in other words over double the times better than at gmhummer.com!!!

Considering a lower Alexa Rank is better than a higher Alexa Rank, hummerguy.net is kicking the shit out of gmhummer.com!!!

    Sour grapes?

Thus I suggest you go and learn how to write a properly formulated sentence and stop copying and pasting complete and utter bullshit off of third party websites that is full of propaganda and lies about HUMMER unless you want to have a real problem on your hands!!!

Don’t let me catch you ever again spreading your B.S. because I’m watching you and so are all of my friends here at hummerguy.net that supports the HUMMER brand because we are everywhere!!! 😐

  44. @Hellbound13

Sweet Jesus I am sick and tired of reading your posts, do you even know what the hell you are talking about?

Is your name Jim Taylor? No it is not!!! You are a person who likes buying in to internet propaganda written by God only knows who, needless to say HUMMER haters.

HUMMER is “NOT” a dead brand!!! The only thing I’m starting to believe which is dead around here is your brain cells.

    a) HUMMER CEO Jim Taylor said in his own words we are looking at May or June before an update on the sale. If you read any of my posts you would know Richard said with summer vacation fast approaching it would be more like September before any major news.

    b) If you own a HUMMER like I do, why in the hell are you on here spreading your negativity? Or do you own a Smart car and are simply trolling theses threads, if so get the hell out and take your Smart car and plug it straight up your ass!!!

Thank you, now no more negative talk about HUMMER as I have had all I can take!!! 👿

  45. @hummeraddict

Yes, this thread is full of comments which are a great thing because it gives Brian a higher Alexa Rank and more exposure which can only be a good thing for the HUMMER brand!!!

What is “not” a good thing is the negative posts I’m reading and I have better not see any more here ever again as I am watching everybody like a hawk!!!

Of course GM wants more money because they are bankrupt for crying out loud, they need all the money they can get. Why in the hell should they give away the HOTTEST brand in all of history for peanuts? If that was the case GM would have sold HUMMER over a thousand times by now already.

Do people want HUMMER being sold to some cheap ass company that ends up making HUMMERs so cheap speed bumps take them out of commission? Of course not!!! Now let GM and the HUMMER executive team do their jobs or else the next person who stirs up shit is going to have me to deal with!!!

Before quarter four is over, you can bet your ass GM will settle on one of their many, many, numerous offers for the HUMMER brand they are now working with as I speak over at corporate headquarters.

    Have a wonderful day!!! 😎

  46. Either Tricky Dick is on some good s%&t or he has an inside hand at GM.

….i’m betting on the good s%&t….BUT HEY…it adds to the day’s entertainment.

I’ll prolly print a few of his threads and post them in my office as positive motivating enlightenment.

  47. @Panama Red

There is nothing tricky about me, I’m a straight shooter and don’t have time for games, that’s for damn sure!!!

As far as drugs go, like I said before, I’m a hardcore Christian and never done drugs in my entire life, thus I resent such an accusation. You on the other hand, would you pass a company drug test, makes me wonder.

As far as working with GM, if I did do you think I’d tell you, of course I would not!!!

How many druggies do drugs in the middle of the day, nobody, get your facts straight unless they are some homeless bum.

Drugged out bums cannot articulate themselves like me, so even the very notion of me being on any sort of drugs including prescription drugs is laughable at best.

Besides, when I’m not working I am a trained and certified fighter, I would be disqualified if I was on performance enhancing drugs as I’m sure you’re well aware of if you have any experience in competition fighting. On the hand if you are looking for some experience in competition fighting I’d be happy to give you some for free.

There is nothing entertaining about defending the HUMMER brand, and if you’re worth your salt instead of mouthing off like some snotty nose punk you’d help me defend the HUMMER brand too!!!

If you’re at an office, I highly suggest you get your butt back to work now, no more slacking off and start showing some real support for the HUMMER brand, not just lip service but genuine support from the “HEART” which is what I do each and every day because I am a “REAL” supporter, not just some fan boy want to be who doesn’t have the balls to get their hands dirty and fight for what they believe in!!! 😐

  48. O this is F’n Fantastic!! Ladies & Gentlemen Dicky doesn’t have an inside hand in GM, but to God himself.

If it’s not the left wing pansies I have to deal with it’s the right wing religious nut jobs.

I’m sorry we all want Hummer to pull through and be around for years to come.

But we’re all on the edge of our seats listening to a religious nut job that “prolly” was told by God that Hummer would survive.

    As a bad Catholic….I hope he’s right!!!

    HAPPY HUMP DAY EVERYONE!

PS – Be careful, he’ll want donations soon to some back woods church or something. Don’t get sucked in! Gotta love it!

  49. @Panama Red

    Nice come back.

Say that to my face and you’ll think you’re dealing with God himself.

I’m not leftwing or rightwing, I am Canadian remember. Click on my name, where does it take you to, it takes you to HUMMER Canada!!! Again, think before you post.

HUMMER will pull through, count on it!!!

I am sure there are many people here who have gone to church in their life time before. We recently raised $1,300.00 for a friend in Chilly who lost his house during the earthquakes down there. If that is what you call being a nut job than the only nut job is YOU!!! I suggest you pull your head out of your ass before you call Christians nut jobs again.

Yeah, you sound like a piss poor Catholic to me, if you don’t have God’s back, he won’t have your back either in life.

I don’t run a church and I don’t live in the backwoods, who is asking for donations. Get your shit straight before you go off running your mouth, thank you. I live on a farm, 3 minutes from the city line, 5 minutes from the nearest casino and 25 minutes from the downtown core. Just because I’m sitting on several hundred acres surrounded by trees and nature, doesn’t make me backwoods, this farm is on the top of the mountain overlooking the city and I can see the high rise buildings from here, especially at night when the towers are lit up. That is not what I would call backwoods by a long shot!!!

Now I suggest you return back to your work and stop flaming the threads here, as I’m sure your boss would not be happy to see you trolling during business hours because if you worked for me and were wasting my company’s time I would show you the door. 😡
